Marilyn Moore Basso is Vice President and General Counsel of TPC Group, a leading producer of value-added products derived from niche petrochemical raw materials, such as C4 hydrocarbons, and provider of critical infrastructure and logistics services along the Gulf Coast. In this role, Ms. Moore Basso has built a Legal department that partners with the business to create and preserve value and led the integration and alignment of the Company’s values with its commitment to go beyond the law to do what is right.
Ms. Moore Basso has more than 20 years of experience and knowledge providing legal counsel and guidance for Fortune 500 and global companies. Prior to joining TPC Group in 2014, Ms. Moore Basso served as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of Celanese Corporation, where she served as the primary legal counsel for various global business groups throughout the company, as well as Corporate Development, Commercial and the Americas region. Before working with Celanese, Ms. Moore Basso was Assistant General Counsel at Elizabeth Arden, Inc. and Corporate Counsel for Baker Hughes Incorporated. Ms. Moore Basso began her career in private practice, where she worked at the law firms of Baker McKenzie and Bracewell LLP, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, general corporate and securities and international matters.
Ms. Moore Basso holds a J.D. from University of Houston Law Center and a B.A. in Political Science, Spanish and Sociology from Rice University.
