General Counsel at Intellergy
Faisal H. Kajani is the General Counsel of Intellergy, an energy management and consulting firm based in Houston, Texas with client service operations throughout the United States. In his role as General Counsel, Mr. Kajani manages all legal matters for Intellergy in each state where the company conducts business operations. Prior to joining Intellergy, Mr. Kajani was the Managing Shareholder of Kajani & Associates, P.C., a law firm based in Houston, Texas, with a practice concentration in Corporate and Securities, Real Estate, and Business Transactions. Before establishing his own practice, Mr. Kajani started his legal career with the law firm of Chamberlain, Hrdlicka in the firm’s Corporate, Securities & Finance Group in Houston, Texas. Mr. Kajani, a native of Houston, Texas, received a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from the University of Houston Law Center.
Mr. Kajani is also very active in several community and professional activities. From 2003 until 2012, he served as a Member of the Board of Directors and as the Chair of the Executive Advisory Committee for the National Alliance of Trade Associations (NATA), an organization of 13 regional trade associations representing approximately 5,500 independent retail businesses/members with approximately $24 billion in annual member revenue. He has also served in various capacities ranging from being a Member of the Advisory Board, a Media Spokesperson, to a Member of the Election Committee for several organizations, including the Greater Austin Merchants Cooperative Association, the Greater Houston Retailers Cooperative Association, the Conciliation and Arbitration Board for the Southwestern USA, a community credit union, and an organization involved in assisting community members in planning for their economic development and growth. As a result of his active involvement with multiple cooperative trade associations over the years, Mr. Kajani has become a preeminent legal advisor to cooperative trade associations throughout the country in a variety of different industries and is regularly invited to speak at different events about matters pertaining to cooperative structure and operations, as well as the impact of federal and state securities laws. Most recently, Mr. Kajani has been recruited to join a business organization of established entrepreneurs and investors that has a mandate to identify, create and structure investment opportunities and partnerships in developing countries that will help in improving the quality of life for people in those countries by working with local governments to establish or improve infrastructure and policy to spur economic growth, new business ventures and employment opportunities. Mr. Kajani currently serves as this organization’s Chief Legal Member on the Advisory Board and is responsible for all strategic legal considerations both domestically and internationally.
