Chasless Yancy is an Assistant General Counsel for the Port of Houston Authority of Harris County, Texas where she assumes lead legal responsibility for the Port Houston’s project and construction management, environmental, and bankruptcy claim matters, among other duties. Before joining the agency in 2013 as Counsel, Chasless was an associate at (Hunton) Andrews Kurth LLP for 12 years, where her practice was focused on corporate bankruptcy and restructuring work along with litigation. Chasless earned her Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas and received her juris doctorate from Columbia University School of Law, where she was a student editor of the American International Review of Arbitration. Now the mother of three daughters, Chasless also previously worked as a featured writer for the What to Expect website, writing a blog about issues of interest to working mothers and multicultural families.
