Assistant General Counsel at Total American Services
Keli Viereck is Assistant General Counsel for Total American Services, a subsidiary of Total SA, the French multinational energy major. During her 19 years with Total, Keli supported a variety of functions including major commercial transactions, joint ventures, sales, transportation, procurement, regulatory, employment, crisis management and litigation. She leads the legal training and crisis management teams and recently spearheaded the legal department’s teambuilding initiative.
Keli spent five years serving as the lead lawyer for Total’s US holding company working on cross-Atlantic programs and projects with Total SA as well as supporting the tax, insurance, compliance, and finance departments and handling the US component of global divestitures, mergers and acquisitions.
Keli serves as the corporate secretary and advises the boards of directors and senior management for several Total joint ventures including a new joint venture undergoing tremendous growth with $3 billion in capital projects.
Prior to working at Total, Keli specialized in litigation at Hughes & Luce (now K&L Gates) and interned with Lee H. Rosenthal, the Chief United States District Judge for the Southern District of Texas. Before law, Keli worked in the fast paced cellular industry for GTE Corporation (now Verizon) where she received the Employee Excellence Award.
She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston School of Law where she was Managing Editor of the Houston Law Review, and summa cum laude in Business Administration from Principia College in St. Louis.
Keli is passionate about helping the Houston community. She is founder and director for Stretch for Strays, an animal rescue organization helping Houston’s homeless pets and volunteers for Camp Victory teaching concepts of empowerment and self-worth to girls who are survivors of sexual abuse.
Keli and her husband, Dave, enjoy Houston’s many restaurants and visiting their daughter, Amanda, who lives in Denver.
