Vice President and General Counsel – TrinityRail
Jared Richardson is the Vice President and General Counsel of TrinityRail. In this position, he is responsible for all legal matters for Trinity Industries’ rail businesses, including contracts, lease agreements, financings, and investment partnerships. He works closely with the corporate legal group on rail- related litigation.
He was previously Vice President, Associate General Counsel, and Secretary for Trinity Industries, Inc. In this position, he was responsible for SEC filings and compliance, corporate financings, significant acquisitions, stock exchange regulatory compliance, proxy statement preparation, annual shareholder meetings, and board of director meetings.
Before joining Trinity, Jared served as Senior Counsel and Assistant Secretary for Energy Future Holdings Corp. (formerly TXU Corp.). During his time there, he was involved in a wide range of corporate legal matters, including corporate governance and corporate secretary matters, SEC/stock exchange compliance, acquisition/divestiture work, proxy statement preparation, director recruiting, and creation of internal policies on a range of topics.
Prior to joining Energy Future Holdings, Jared worked in the corporate and securities section of the law firm of Locke Liddell & Sapp LLP (now Locke Lord LLP) in its Dallas office. At the firm, he represented both public and private clients on a broad array of corporate matters, including mergers, acquisitions, securities offerings, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
A native of Louisiana, Jared graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.A. in political science and earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School. He and his wife, Tracy, have four children and reside in Sunnyvale, Texas.
