Assistant General Counsel at Port of Houston Authority
Chasless Yancy has served as Assistant General Counsel for the Port of Houston Authority since 2016, having joined the agency in 2013 as Counsel. Since then, her primary areas of focus have included real estate, project & construction management, bankruptcy claims, safety, and finance and bond issues.
As the lead attorney supporting the efforts of Port Houston’s real estate group, Chasless has provided the legal work that helped make recent major leases with some Port Houston clients possible.
Before joining the port, Chasless worked at Andrews Kurth LLP, a large Houston-based law firm. She worked for Andrews Kurth for 12 years, primarily handling corporate bankruptcy and restructuring work along with litigation.
She is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of St. Thomas and received her law degree from Columbia University School of Law.
Now the mother of three daughters, Chasless also previously worked as a feature writer for the What to Expect website, writing a blog about issues of interest to working mothers and biracial/multicultural families.
