SVP and General Counsel at Tenet Health
Audrey Andrews serves as senior vice president and general counsel for Tenet Healthcare Corporation. She is a member of the Enterprise Leadership Team and reports directly to Trevor Fetter, Tenet’s chairman, and CEO. In her role, Andrews is responsible for leading all aspects of Tenet’s legal activities at the corporate, regional/market and hospital levels.
Previously, she served as senior vice president and chief compliance officer, overseeing the company’s ethics and compliance program and reporting to the Quality, Compliance and Ethics committee of Tenet’s Board of Directors. Prior to this role, Andrews served as vice president and assistant general counsel for Tenet’s regulatory affairs. In that position, she led the law department’s regulatory group in handling Medicare reimbursement, quality of care and other regulatory issues.
Andrews joined Tenet as hospital operations counsel. She joined the compliance section of the law department a year later and began providing legal advice on Medicare reimbursement issues, quality of care, and other specialty areas such as the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
Andrews is a member of the Health Care Compliance Association, the American and Texas Bar Associations and the American Health Lawyers Association. She also works with the Center for Women in Law through the University of Texas School of Law.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Government and juris doctor from The University of Texas at Austin.
